I know, I’m a week late. But hasn’t 2021 started with a bang? Monday was my first working day of the year, and that meant dealing with the fallout of the Brexit transition period ending. For those of you who don’t know, by day I work in regulatory & compliance within the medical device industry, and let me tell you, it has been a long, stressful few years. And of course we’re still dealing with the pandemic, with Lockdown 3.0 coming into force this week too.
But here we are. A new year, if not a new start. Some good news is that I’ve just finished the first edit on my historical fiction and sent it to my agent (writing that will never get old!), and I have the proofread of In the Dark to get started on, which is out on the 3rd of March. I also need to get another manuscript ready for submission to Bloodhound Books, which is scheduled for publication in August this year. And our second puppy, Vixen, will be joining us on the 31st of January! We’ve also been doing some more decorating (check out my Instagram page for details!), including finally getting rid of the vile yellow wall in the kitchen, and I need to tackle the spare room to create another office space before Vixen arrives. We have a desk in the conservatory, but my partner often uses it and I decided I wanted a separate space for my books. And somewhere to escape from the puppy!
So life is busy, and I’m quite glad of that. It helps keep my mind off the rest of the world for a while. It’s been a difficult 12 months, and we still have a way to go yet, but I’m trying to find the good in every day. I hope you are all staying safe and well, and coping with the new normal.
